The History of Thangassery Lighthouse
Built in 1902 by the British, the Thangassery Lighthouse was a crucial navigational aid for ships approaching the bustling port of Kollam (then Quilon). The region was a key trading hub for the Portuguese, Dutch, and British, and the lighthouse served as a beacon of guidance for centuries.
